CityWalkStories respects your privacy. This page explains which data is used on your device and when external services are contacted.

Who is responsible?

CityWalkStories operates this website and decides why personal data is used. The final legal name, business address and registration details will be added before the paid launch.

Local data on your device

  • The demo sign-in status is stored locally in your browser.
  • Saved routes and visited stops are stored locally.
  • Your privacy choice is stored locally so the notice does not reappear every time.

GPS location

Your location is requested only after you choose to share it. It is used to order routes and is not stored by the app or sent to our server.

Offline storage

A service worker temporarily stores previously opened pages and local images on your device. You can remove this cache in your browser's site settings.

External services

  • The interactive map loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap. The provider receives technical connection data such as your IP address.
  • Google Maps opens only when you press a navigation link yourself.
  • When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is processed by Resend after consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • When you submit a review, we send your name, email address, rating and text to a private moderation inbox. Your email address is never published with the review. Publication requires your consent and our approval.

Why may we use data?

  • Necessity and our legitimate interest: to keep the app secure and prevent misuse.
  • Consent: for the newsletter and publication of a submitted review. You may withdraw consent.
  • Performance of a contract: for a future purchase, we process only what is needed to provide the selected package.

How long do we keep data?

Local data remains on your device until you remove it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Review submissions are assessed and removed or anonymised when no longer needed. A final retention schedule will be set before launch.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may exercise the following rights:

  • access, correction and portability of your personal data;
  • deletion or restriction of processing;
  • object to processing and withdraw previous consent.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Cookies and analytics

No advertising or analytics cookies are currently active. Essential browser storage supports the app's core functions.
